AMBITIOUS, INDEPENDENT, UPRIGHT, RESPONSIBLE, WARM, UNDERSTANDING – ENTREPRENEUR: THIS IS YOUR DAY!

The story of female entrepreneurship mostly begins in the safety of a home environment: in the kitchen, living room, or on a park bench or forest walk. In the early years, female entrepreneurs were a rarity, and many did not support this new reality: women and business, that doesn't go together! They don't dare, they don't know how, they don't take risks. It turned out that women offer numerous services and activities that are uninteresting to the male business world. There were very few domestic entrepreneurial examples and successful entrepreneurial stories. At the same time, a new independent Slovenia was emerging.

After 34 years of developing female entrepreneurship, there are now many examples and good practices available. We share experiences, become mentors, and seek out mentors ourselves. We learn that there is power in connection, and networking is encoded in our DNA.

The story of female entrepreneurs in Slovenia began in 1991 with the selection of the first Entrepreneur of the Year and the event "Entrepreneurship is Feminine." By chance and some willpower, Zori, Petra, Urša, and Marta connected in 2011 and asked: "Why not invite all enterprising Slovenian women to their special day?" And thus, the event "500 Entrepreneurs" was born.
